PorcelainDiane’s hand crashed hard into the porcelain as her knees hit the ground in front of her perfectly white toilet. She had over done it, she realised. She retched again and vomited into the bowl trying not to let the acrid smell fill her lungs because that smell often made her vomit again. She had been feeling rough for a couple of days but had decided to distract herself by cleaning, the kitchen was done but when it came to bleaching the bathroom the enclosed space made the cloying scent had seemed magnified somehow and it had stuck to the back of her throat until she had coughed it out. She was sick.
She was sick and she hated to be sick. She pulled the plastic toilet seat down and rested her arm on it so she could lay her cheek against her wrist. She felt the tears streaking over her hand and it tickled unpleasantly, but she was exhausted from the exertion of being so drastically unwell, so she did not move.
Eventually she knew she would have to get up. Warren would be home soon

Living a Dream P5The two temporary companions stepped out onto the pavement, with the Doctor following closely, locking the TARDIS door behind him. He wasn't sure what to expect- he was practically stepping into a performance showcasing his life. He wondered what he could do to stop it, and how the humans had managed to get all of this information about his life in the first place.

They were standing at the back of the Royal Albert Hall, a playful wind tossing with their hair as they tried to plan their next move, surrounded by the sounds of busy London at night. Cars were everywhere; it was obviously a popular event. The Doctor took a quick look around and

The TARDIS throbbed gently around them, a calm green-blue light coming from the glowing centre console. The Doctor walked around the console, flicking switches and levers, pressing buttons, and generally making sure his ship was still in good condition.

They had been through the usual "ooh"s and "aah"s that came when a new visitor entered the time machine- though these two girls had seemed surprisingly familiar with the TARDIS interior. Fenn could even name a few of the switches, and Hannah seemed very comfortable in his beaten-up

Living a Dream P3Fenn opened the old wooden box, setting out its contents on the desk for the Doctor to see. His eyes grew wider and wider with astonishment as the objects were laid, one by one, before him. He picked them up, wondering how on Earth he couldn't have known about this.

First, there was a model TARDIS, almost exactly the same as his own. Next came the figurines- of himself, Rose, Jack, Donna and Martha, all correct down to the clothes they wore. Owen was busy in the medical bay when the Doctor arrived. Fenn was hooked up to an innumerable amount of wires and tubes, and Owen was looking downright flustered. The Doctor stepped forward, "How is she doing?"

Owen looked up at him, "Very well, considering the circumstances. By that I mean she's not dead yet."

Jack joined the conversation, "Is it the Huon energy?"

Owen nodded, looking worried. There was silence for a minute or two while Owen worked. The Doctor was desperately trying to think of something he could do. He started muttering under his breath... "Huon energy, huon energy, how to stabilise it? C'mon, think, think..." Suddenly he jumped up, "Oh, that's it!"

Jack and Owen looked up in surprise, "What?"

The Doctor was clearly in his element after a breakthrough, "Huon energy! The TARDIS contains huon energy!" He ran out of the room full-pelt, heading towards the TARDIS. Jack and Owen could only sit and watch while the Doctor put his plan into action. The TARDIS materialised in the medical bay and the Doctor burst out of the doors, carrying two cables. He brought them up to Owen and handed them to him, "Do you have a defibrillator?"

Owen nodded wordlessly.

"Good, then wire these up to it." He ran back into the TARDIS and Jack followed him and asked, "Doctor, what are you doing?"

The Doctor was running around the console, flicking switches and buzzing wires with his sonic. He looked up at Jack, "The TARDIS contains pockets of huon energy, but also artron energy. If I release a controlled amount of artron energy down one of those cables, it will have a reverse effect and literally absorb the huon energy residue and carry up the other cable back into the TARDIS. The two energies are almost exact opposites."

Jack just nodded, "Okay. So, are you sure this will work?"

"Positive."

Jack walked out, leaving the Doctor to do his thing. Owen looked up, "What's he doing?"

Jack shrugged, "Absorbing the energy into the TARDIS. Do you need an extra hand?"

Owen shook his head, "No, I've got it."

"Okay," Jack was about to sit down on one of the few chairs in the bay when Ianto arrived with coffee. He picked up a mug, "Thanks, Ianto."

Ianto smiled, "No problem. Owen, you want one?"

Owen looked up, surrounded by wires and medical equipment, "I'll be fine, thanks Ianto."
"Okay; Doctor- you want a coffee?"

The Doctor ran out of the TARDIS and started wiring up the defibrillator with his sonic, taking the screwdriver off Owen. Ianto tried again, "Doctor?"

He looked up, "What?"

"Do you want a coffee?"

The Doctor looked at him, hard, "My friend is on her death bed and you're asking me for coffee?!"

Ianto mumbled, "I'm sorry, I just thought..."

"Yeah, well I'm a bit busy for coffee at the moment."

Jack spoke up, "Oh, come on Doctor, he's just trying to help. Be nice."

The Doctor didn't answer. Owen stepped out of the wires and took a mug from Ianto. They stood watching the Doctor work for a few minutes before Jack spoke up, "So, Doctor, out with it."

The Doctor turned to look at him, "What do you mean?"

Gwen spoke up, "Who is she?"

He turned back to the wires, "Her name's Fenn; she's a time agent. I believe you've met."

A strange look flashed across Jack's face, "How did she end up shot? And why is she with you?"

"Delven got her. It's a long story. I'll explain later," he twiddled a few things and jumped up, "Aha! Finished! You, Owen, come over here and hold this paddle." He was holding out one of the defibrillator paddles that were now hooked up to the TARDIS. Owen hurried over and took the paddle, and they stood either side of Fenn. Owen had to ask, "What is this going to do?"

The Doctor looked at him, "Absorb the huon energy and enhance her immune system. It's just artron energy, nothing to worry about. The TARDIS will absorb the huon energy into its mainframe and use it as fuel."

Owen nodded, "So do we still use it like a defibrillator?"

The Doctor laughed, "Yes. Are you ready?"

Owen nodded and they waited in silence for a moment until it was shattered like sugar glass when the Doctor said, "Clear!"

Poor Ianto. Doctor, why do you have to be so snappy? Am I the only one who's noticed that he can be a bit short sometimes? Don't worry, Doctor won't stay grumpy for too long.

Anyway. This took FOREVER. Partly because of problems elsewhere, but also because I got stuck with writer's block hanging of the roof of my head.
