Fenn opened the old wooden box, setting out its contents on the desk for the Doctor to see. His eyes grew wider and wider with astonishment as the objects were laid, one by one, before him. He picked them up, wondering how on Earth he couldn't have known about this.
First, there was a model TARDIS, almost exactly the same as his own. Next came the figurines- of himself, Rose, Jack, Donna and Martha, all correct down to the clothes they wore. Then there was a toy sonic screwdriver, exactly matching his own, and a t-shirt. He unfolded the shirt, and gasped at the picture painted on it.
It was a Dalek, painted red and gazing at him in all of its life-like hatred, with a speech bubble underneath screeching the word "EXTERMINATE!" in bold capitals. The Doctor put the shirt on the desk and opened his mouth to question the two girls, but Fenn interrupted, "Just wait, Doctor. There's more."
She pulled out a stack of books, and handed them over. The titles read such things as: Doctor Who: The Stone Rose, Doctor Who: Beautiful Chaos and Doctor Who: Prisoner of the Daleks. Each of them had a picture of him on the cover, sometimes with one of his companions. He read them all with his amazing speed, flicking the pages in a blur with his thumb.
He finished reading the books and looked up at his hosts. Fenn was gazing at him earnestly, as if trying to gage his reaction, but Hannah was grinning at him like- well, to be subtle- a maniac. He looked back to Fenn, almost afraid to ask, "What is all of this?"
"This, Doctor, is the fan memorabilia for the British Broadcasting Company's hit British sci-fi drama, Doctor Who."
He stood up angrily, "But how can they have my picture all over them? Figurines of me? They're selling my life on a TV show, and I didn't even know about it!" He looked at the girls and burst out furiously, "And how did you girls come to be in possession of it?"
Fenn just looked at him, as if weighing her answer- but Hannah spoke first, "That's easy, Doctor; we're your biggest fans!" At this, she again jumped up and attempted to hug him, but he side stepped and she fell into his chair. He looked at Fenn, "Well? Answer me!"
She stood up, slowly, as if she regretted leaving her seat, "Your TARDIS is parked somewhere near here, isn't it?"
He nodded, wondering where this could possibly be going.
"Well then," Fenn brushed off her coat and put the box of souvenirs back on the shelf, "You'll have no problem taking us to the Doctor Who proms to show you!"
The Doctor felt the blood leave his face, "What?!"
Glad you like it!
