If I had the World to give I'd stay and I would live Somewhere where the clouds don't cloud up the skies.
I'd sit up in a tree And I'd live quite happily Because I'd see the world as it was meant to be.
If the Skies are made of Diamonds And the Birds swim in the Seas Then I'll live on an Island And Hug the Bumblebees.
Easy for you to say (I know) Armies go to war (You know) Ready to shoot and play (I know, I know) That we can't do anything at all (You know, you know) Have you heard the bells ringing before? (Do you really know at all?)
If the sepulchral tones are true Then summer afternoons we knew Are all we have but these These sparkling bumblebees?
If the Skies are made of Diamonds And the Birds swim in the Seas Then I'll live on an Island And Hug the Bumblebees.
Truth will save us yet Though you may not see it The Key you seek you will not find If you do not ask the Keeper
The only song I've written that doesn't have a tune. Any Doctor Who obsessed people out there would realise the link: the little kid in "Utopia" who says "My mummy says the skies are made of daimonds". Yes, that was my inspiration, but the actual song has nothing to do with it.
